Salesforce is seeking Performance Engineers (Senior Member of Technical Staff / Lead Member of Technical Staff) to join its Performance Engineering team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of enhancing software scalability, speed, and reliability. Your work will directly impact the productivity of engineers and the performance of Salesforce’s enterprise-scale applications that serve millions of users across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large-scale distributed systems and optimize performance bottlenecks.
  • Debug and write code to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Enhance UI and mobile performance to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Lead performance-driven initiatives across engineering teams and the wider industry.
  • Design and develop automation tools for performance monitoring, regression detection, and scalable testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–13 years in performance engineering or related roles.
  • Strong coding skills in Java (deep JVM knowledge, performance tuning, GC mechanisms) and experience in C/Python/Ruby on Rails.
  • Hands-on with profiling and debugging tools (JProfiler, YourKit).
  • Solid understanding of throughput, latency, memory, CPU, disk, and network metrics.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases and streaming systems like Spark, Storm, Cassandra, and Kafka.
  • Experience in UI/Mobile performance testing using tools like Selenium and LoadRunner.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce platform features, enterprise architecture principles, and ability to act as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
